Hotel Playa Blanca

In my travels, I have been fortunate enough to have experienced some of the best hotels in the world. From those located in the heart of the city to the far flung island paradises. Of all of those I have seen however, Lanzarote, which is part of the Canary Islands, holds a special place in my heart. Specifically, I find HL Club Playa Blanca Hotel on Lanzarote Island a truly magical place. Lanzarote is the easternmost part of the independent Canary Islands. Although technically an autonomous region of Spain, it is actually located in the Atlantic Ocean and is about 125 km off the coast of Africa . I have visited the island several times and I can confidently say that the magic has not waned one bit.

The area on which it is formed is literally peppered with volcanoes accounting for the breathtaking rock formations found on it. A local once told me that the entire area was born out of volcanic eruptions. This aspect of the island always fascinated me and I suppose my imagination ran wild thinking how this land must have started as rising from the sea. As a tourist though, what I always liked about the place was its successful marriage of that tropical island feel with that of modern design and amenities. While I do like to rough it every now and then, a true vacation for me still involves a lot of rest and relaxation. Filled with beautiful hotels, scrumptious restaurants and unique activities, the entire island is just one big playground where I can just let loose and escape the hustle and bustle.

Although I have tried many of the area’s ccommodations, I find myself perennially going back to HL Club Playa Blanca Hotel. From here, all that is happening in the Lanzarote Island is just literally a stone’s throw away. In fact, one of my favorite activities is to go exploring the Fire Mountains in the National Park of Timanfaya and enjoy its breathtaking views. Also, the hotel has its very own sports and entertainment facility so I can keep active and entertained without even stepping out. It has all the amenities I can ever need and even has special ones for children making it a perfect place for families to spend their breaks. The service is second to none and most importantly, there is an extensive selection of food and drinks which are enough never to make you forget that you are on a well deserved and unbelievable holiday. The design and architecture of the place never loses that tropical vibe despite its interiors being so modern. I was delightfully surprised that my room was outfitted with its own refrigerator, safe and phone- as well as cable TV! But the real reason I keep coming back is that no matter how many times I go there, the warmth of the staff is so welcoming that even the guests are transformed, and a new found peace, relaxation and appreciation is deeply felt.
